So  many  possibilities...

During the editing process, the editors cajoled your author out of including some pertinent material that might “offend someone”, “blame the innocent”, be “politically incorrect” or infer other sins against humanity that might upset sensitive readers who have chosen an insiders unexpurgated automotive Detroit story for their reading pleasure.

So as not to disappoint, such material will be offered here for discussion, a logical complement to the stuff in the book.  Here are some of the “out-takes” that will be covered:
  • How poorly we train our drivers, particularly with regard to “one off “ situations. (“power off” and “runaway engine” survival rates should approximate 100%)
  • The idiocy surrounding the Takata “exploding” airbags in the media and the congress. Duh! They were expecting wisps to propel the airbag at 200MPH? (Your author has an “over the weekend” solution”)
  • The debacle of the ‘70’s gas rationing and particularly the 55 MPH law.
  • A litany of some auto dealers “dirtiest tricks”.
  • More lunacy approaching in the ‘20’s.
  • A caution about driving skills of new immigrants, particularly when their culture is not auto-centric.

So many possibilities; who can we chastise next?
